Another Story from Civil War Reenacting

Thinking back to a story remembering my first civil war reenactment all dressed up:

It was Endview Plantation in Newport News, Virginia. Mom, Nancy(one of moms friend) and me went to endview all dressed up. Remember this is my first reenactment, meeting everyone in the 28Th Virginia. Watching the battle and hanging around the good ol'campfire. While everyone was gone to the battle, it was mom, Nancy and I in the camp. I went somewhere I dunno where I went, came back and mom and Nancy caught a runaway Yankee coming through the camps. Well, they capture the Yankee and when the guys got back to camp they were surprised. So they took charge and walk him back to his camp.

Walking back to his camp, he kept trying to escape but the guys took care of that well once we got back to the camp, his officers punished him good (cant remember what they did to him)

I will update again tomorrow (if i can remember to update this) to tell another story about civil war reenacting.

Sitting here watching Gods and Generals remembering the good old days of civil war reenacting...BTW... I was on one of the sets of gods and generals I have a picture to prove it....ok back to what i am saying i remember just sitting around the campfire (what a wonderful smell) talking and catching up on things... sleeping in the tents on the hay or staw, going to dances having a really good time.... I miss dressing up in my pretty costumes... Just having a wonderful time hanging out talking about stories and listening to the ones that was in gods and generals about the stars.......BTW my step uncle and step cousn are in the movie they are general robert lee's officers.......I am thinking about going ahead and go to a reenacment and dress up and see people i havent seen in years.............
